An economic strategy game dedicated to railways, representing a series started back in 1985. In A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism, we create railway lines and build stations, developing not only our company but also helping out local tourism, and consequently, the entire city.
In 1985, the Japanese studio Artdink released its railway-themed economic strategy titled A-Train. This game initiated a series that the team behind it continued to develop over the following years. Over time, in addition to the main numbered parts, the series also saw a number of spin-off titles. Among them is A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism.
In A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism the action is viewed from a bird's-eye perspective. As the title suggests, this time our activities focus primarily on tourism. The goal here is to use tourism as a driving force for the development of both our company and the entire city.
We create our railway network from scratch or build upon existing lines, which we gradually expand. The game allows us to design and construct stations, as well as lay tracks according to our preferences. The key to success is constructing the entire system in such a way as to ensure maximum capacity.
The latter becomes increasingly important as our city becomes more popular among visitors. The city features a range of tourist attractions, such as hot springs and historic buildings. We should extend our railway line to these attractions to fully exploit their potential.
If, for some reason, we are unable to bring the tracks to a specific location, we can opt for alternative transport, such as buses or ferries.
The measure of the effectiveness of our actions is the increasing indicators of urbanization and the wealth of our account. To make the most of local tourism and maintain a positive company image, it is worth paying some attention to issues other than transport, primarily promoting the services we provide or decorating the surroundings.
These latter issues can be entrusted to our subsidiaries. If we have trouble making a decision, we can rely on support from our assistants.
A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition features a special mode (Nintendo Switch 2 Mode), which increases the limit of trains, cars, and plans. Additionally, the creators have improved the graphics, increased the frame rate, implemented mouse support (and mouse mode in Joy-Con 2 controllers), as well as automatic saves and support for Game Chat, and prepared two new scenarios.
