Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is a strategic jRPG set in a fantastic universe designed for the Class of Heroes series launched in 2009. Game was developed by Acquire.

Plot

Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent takes us on a journey to the continent of Pedra. These once peaceful lands, which were home to four nations, began to change into a vast labyrinth of dungeons. To make matters worse, monsters are becoming increasingly aggressive and spread fear among the inhabitants.

The main character of the game is a young man named Alex, who in the company of friends goes on a dangerous journey. Trying to find his lost father, protagonist step by step discovers the truth about the dangerous anomaly that haunted Pedra and faces many dangers. The latter is made possible by the so-called Ruler Orb, an artifact passed down from generation to generation that allows him to command on the battlefield.

Game mechanics

In Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent we observe the action from an isometric view. On their way through the land, Alex and his entourage have to face hordes of monsters. Among the latter we can find both series opponents, whose strength is their number, and much more powerful enemies acting as bosses.

Battles are fought in real time, on arenas with a grid of square fields. During battles we can freely set up our units on the battlefield (the game allows us to pick up a character at any time, move it in the air and drop it on the field of our choice). In addition to the proper placement of units, the key to success is the skillful use of their individual skills.

Although Alex is initially accompanied only by Citrin, his childhood friend, and Lazuli, his advisor, over time his team is joined by other allies. They represent a variety of races and have unique sets of strengths, weaknesses, skills and personality traits. As we progress, we develop the characters, which allows them to face more and more challenges.

Technical aspects

Graphics in Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is made in a colorful, manga style. The entire game was created in an eye-catching 2.5D technique - character sprites, which look like they were cut out of paper, appear here on the background of 3D locations.
