Alien: Rogue Incursion is a survival horror game based on the license of the cult film series, initiated in 1979 by the movie Alien, directed by Ridley Scott. The game was developed with virtual reality sets in mind, and was created by the Survios studio, whose portfolio includes such projects as Creed: Rise to Glory and The Walking Dead Onslaught.

Plot

The action of Alien: Rogue Incursion is set between the films Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). During the game we take on the role of a hero who ends up on the inhospitable planet Purdan, specifically - in a gloomy facility located on its surface. Given that this place is overrun by creatures called xenomorphs, his stay on this globe quickly becomes a real struggle for survival.

Alien: Rogue Incursion blends stealth, horror and action to deliver an immersive and satisfying VR experience. While the dynamic Xenomorph AI will keep players on edge for the entirety of its runtime, some of the objective variety can be lacking. Regardless, the games and balance between Alien's horror and Aliens' action make it an engaging Alien experience from beginning to end. While Rogue Incursion may not reach Isolation's heights, it's an impressive, atmospheric ride with a gripping cliffhanger that leaves me eager for Part 2.

XboxEra: 6.5 / 10 by Jesse Norris

I like every part of Alien: Rogue Incursion except for the most important one, the combat. It looks amazing, sounds great, and has a solid story. I am sad to say that I found said combat, and how often it was forced upon me, to make the game tough to recommend at launch.  Not only that, but this is a ‘surprise’ Part One. At $40 I hope that the full package, many patches later, can find the brilliance that’s hidden underneath this game’s faults.

GameOnly: 3.5 / 5 by Mateusz Cieślak

Alien: Rogue Incursion on the Meta Quest 3 is a fine game. Although the graphical compromises compared to other platforms are significant, I still had quite a good time playing this title. Unfortunately, the ending of the game really bored me, and running around the map just to extend the gameplay time is something I always consider a big downside in any title. Despite these flaws, I can recommend this game and I suggest reserving multiple shorter play sessions instead of one long to avoid falling victim to tedious backtracking.
