Over the years, the Internet has become an abundant source of thriller stories. At first, they functioned only in text form, but over time fan films and series began to appear as well. One such series is Angel Engine, which has received a video game adaptation from independent HMS Studios and Black Lantern Collective. The Angel Engine project is a horror adventure with simulation elements.
In Angel Engine, we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the gameplay we play the role of a surgeon, and our task is to take so-called "test subjects" and correct the deformations of their bodies. We don't do this with our own hands, as the Babel 2 Scientific Research Center puts a mechanical arm at our disposal.
The various operations are presented in the form of mini-games requiring mainly dexterity and perceptiveness. They become increasingly difficult over time.
The matter is complicated by the fact that the title forces you to work under high time pressure. The clock is constantly ticking, and we have to complete a given operation before the patient wakes up. In addition, on our shoulders lie issues related to equipment maintenance, keeping the title's Angel Engine operational, as well as warding off demons.
Angel Engine takes us to a world turned to ashes by a nuclear conflagration. In it, the second Tower of Babel grows into the last refuge of ancient civilization. Behind its walls, a team of scientists is fighting to save the human species from damnation. While their actions may raise moral questions, they believe they are doing it in the name of God.
