A survival horror action adventure game. It is the debut project of the independent studio, Red Barrels, established by veterans of the gaming industry: David Chateauneuf, Philippe Morin, and Hugo Dallaire. Outlast’s story is set in an old asylum for mentally ill, adapted, by the Murkoff corporation, into a research center. Journalist Miles Upshur gets his hands on information that strange things occur in that place.

Outlast for PC, SWITCH and etc. is a FPP survival horror. This is a debut project of Red Barrels, a studio founded by people who had worked on such series as Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Uncharted.

Story

The action takes place in the United States, in asylum located in Colorado. A long abandoned building was bought by Murkoff corporation to open there a research center. In Outlast for PC, SWITCH and etc. you play as Miles Upshur, a journalist who learns about some strange things happening in the facility. To discover the truth, he breaks into the resort and discovers that apart from banned medical experiments also blasphemous rituals take place there. Without any weapons, equipped with a camera and a few spare batteries, Miles enters the building that greets him with bloody scenes of recent massacre. Someone – or something – is killing the facility’s residents and staff while the only living witnesses of these horrific crimes are too disturbed to help.

Adventure

The first official DLC add-on to the bestselling survival horror Outlast from the same developer, Red Barrels studio. It takes place before the events shown in the main game. Players take role of one of the employees of Mount Massive asylum, a facility that secretly conducts human experiments. Discovering the terrifying truth, responsible for which is the Murkoff corporation, he decides to sent an anonymous denunciation that ends up in hands of Miles Upshur, the protagonist of the basic game. A set of new, previously unseen, locations inside the hospital has been created for the DLC, as well as new enemies that we will face while exploring Mount Massive.
