Sequel of the well received stealth game from 2016. In Aragami 2, we once again play the role of the warrior who, thanks to his supernatural ability to control shadows, takes on the most difficult tasks that require hidden action.
Aragami 2 is the second instalment of the stealth games cycle which began in 2016. The game was developed by the authors of the original, i.e. the independent studio Lince Works.
In Aragami 2, we once again take on the role of one of the Aragami. We are talking about elite warriors affected by a mysterious disease that is slowly destroying their bodies and minds, while at the same time giving them supernatural abilities to control the shadows. The hero's task is to protect the Rashomon Valley and to free other representatives of his clan who have been imprisoned by the invading army. Besides, the hero has to deal with the disease that afflicts him before it ends his life.
In Aragami 2 the action was shown from the third person perspective (TPP). Performing the tasks most often requires acting in hiding and eliminating adversaries from the surprise. This is made easier by the hero's supernatural abilities, who is able not only to control shadows, but also, among other things, to teleport himself at short distances (for example, to look at the nearest area from above). When everything else fails, there is nothing left for us to do but stand up to fight; during clashes with enemies we have to make quick and precise katana cuts, block incoming attacks and perform instant counter-attacks. Moreover, as we progress, we increase the combat potential of the protagonist. On the three skill trees, there is room for 42 skilles to unlock; besides, during the game, we gain resources to create a new arsenal and armor.
In Aragami 2 it is possible to play alone or in the company of up to two players, in cooperation mode.
The graphic design of Aragami 2 has been maintained in a colourful, slightly cartoon-like style; nevertheless, the game is quite brutal.

Aragami 2 is a fun stealth-action game armed with an abundant variety of ninja killing skills and tools which are sure to please fans of the genre, especially in co-op. However, the monotonous missions, low-production quality cutscenes, and slightly clunky combat system may cause a modicum of annoyance for some.

Aragami 2 is an adventure that can be enjoyed by stealth fans and anyone who wants to try infiltrating an enemy base with satisfying results. Even if you’re bad at stealth games, Aragami 2 encourages you to create your own path and explore different ways to tackle a challenge. Sometimes close combat is my jam, and other times I just want to avoid confrontation. The many ways to experience Aragami 2 made it feel less catered to one specific audience and more towards anyone who is interested in trying a stealth experience. While the plot isn’t all that engaging, it is satisfying in its own way.

Ultimately, poor combat fails to sour the strong level and encounter design here that meshes beautifully with well-thought-out controls and plenty of mechanical variety. An impressive sequel, but perhaps lacking the purity of its predecessor.
