Arma 3 Creator DLC: Spearhead 1944 PC

Arma 3 Creator DLC: Spearhead 1944 is a major expansion to a tactical shooter, Arma III. It was developed by the Heavy Ordnance Works. As the title suggests, it's part of the Creator DLC program, under which Bohemia Interactive publishes expansions created by other developers.

Mechanics

The DLC is set during World War II. Spearhead 1944 introduces a new map, Normandy, featuring an area of 150 square kilometers. It features five playable factions, over fifty weapon types, forty kinds of vehicles and stationary weaponry. There are also many new objects, NPCs and uniforms.

The game's co-op content supports up to 24 players and consists of seven large missions. There are also six multiplayer scenarios, playable in Combat Patrol, Escape, Warlords and Zeus modes.

There's also a singleplayer scenario (though also playable in co-op), Der Zahnarzt. It revolves around the French resistance, tasked with eliminating a German commander stationed in a castle near Marigny.

Game modes

Just like the base version of Arma III, Spearhead 1944 supports singleplayer and multiplayer.

Technical aspects

The expansion pack is not standalone and requires the base version of Arma III to function.

On the day of the DLC's release, its data package was released for free on Steam Workshop. Subscribing to it lets players not owning Spearhead 1944 to play on multiplayer servers using the DLC's resources. This, however, doesn't include the Normandy map, as it, the campaigns and the scenarios are only available to players who own the DLC.
