A sequel of the 2023 FPS from the Russian studio Mundfish. Atomic Heart 2 is an action-adventure production with more RPG elements than the first game. We are transported to a retro-futuristic Soviet dystopia. This time the events from the game have a more global character.
Atomic Heart II is a sequel to the game Atomic Heart released in 2023. In contrast to the original, which was a pure shooter, this time we received an action-adventure game with a strongly emphasized RPG element. The game was developed by the creators of the original, namely the Russian studio Mundfish.
We can follow the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). In Atomic Heart 2 we enter a living world, where we can meet both familiar characters and enemies, as well as completely new faces and previously unseen foes.
Combat still plays a dominant role here. When on the battlefield, we can make use of a wide range of firearms and melee weapons, as well as various gadgets and abilities (once again available thanks to the experimental gauntlet held by the protagonist). Despite this, more attention was devoted to storytelling and RPG elements. The developers made an effort to provide us with a greater dose of freedom, so in addition to quests pushing the story forward, there are other activities to check out.
Atomic Heart 2 takes us to the retro-futuristic, dystopian universe known from the first installment of the series, in which machines meant to make people's lives easier, rebelled against them, unleashing real chaos.
This time, the events we are participating in have a larger, truly global scale. As we progress, we learn more about the game world, and in trying to prevent its total collapse, we gradually discover the truth about the basis of the events in which we found ourselves at the center.
Atomic Heart II operates on the Unreal Engine 5.
