Attack of the Earthlings is a turn-based strategy, enriched with elements taken from the scraps. The title, which was also seasoned with a pinch of specific humour, was developed by the independent Scottish Team Junkfish.
Attack of the Earthlings takes control of a race of hypertrophic insects known as The Swarmers that inhabit planet X13. The globe is on the target of the Earthly people personified by the greedy Galactoil corporation, which destroys other worlds from precious raw materials. Our task is to drive the aggressors out of the X13.
In Attack of the Earthlings the action is shown in isometric view. Production has been divided into missions, during which our primary goal is to remain in hiding. Our subordinates sneak through ventilation systems, attack single enemies, hide behind guards and finally set traps on their victims; moreover, in order to eliminate several opponents at the same time, they have to act in groups.
This is not the end of the story, however, as the bodies of defeated people are a source of valuable biomass - a raw material used to improve individual units. Thanks to it, insects can take on various specializations, thus gaining unique abilities. In addition, in return for the implementation of further tasks we receive points, which can be used to purchase mutagens increasing the combat potential of soldiers.
Attack of the Earthlings has three-dimensional graphics of decent quality. Mikolaj Stroinski was responsible for the music accompanying the party, whose portfolio includes soundtracks to such games as The Vanishing of Ethan Carter or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
