Babylon X is a third-person action RPG, set in an ancient, magically and technologically advanced Mesopotamia, where a runaway prophet-slave and a young priestess of the moon try to save the world and find a new meaning in their lives.
Babylon X is a third-person action RPG set in an alternate ancient Mesopotamia. It's the debut game of Mighty Boy Studio, a team founded by former employees of such studios as Flying Wild Hog, Saber Interactive and Owlcat Games.
Babylon X is set over six thousand year ago, in alternate Mesopotamia. The civilization inhabiting the land made a groundbreaking discovery, letting Egypt and Babylon combine magic with advanced technology.
The story revolves around two characters: Samson and Leykah. The former used to be a mighty prophet, now a mere runaway slave dreaming of revenge on his tormentors. The latter is a young priestess of the moon, whose fate becomes linked with Samson's. Both must embark on a journey to save all of humanity and discover the secret of the Tower of Babel before it is fully built.
Apart from the save the world plot, the game heavily emphasizes the protagonists' personal stories, as they get to know each other better, trying to find a new meaning in their lives.
Babylon X is inspired by classic jRPGs, such as the Final Fantasy series, though gameplay-wise it's closer to the modern installments. It's a third-person action RPG set in a semi-open world, with many NPCs to talk to and lots of real-time combat. There are also numerous puzzles to solve.
The game is very customizable, both the gameplay and the story. Combat grants us lots of freedom, both characters having many different abilities, weapons, gadgets and magic powers. The story and the world, meanwhile, change depending on our decisions.
Babylon X runs on the Unreal Engine 5.
