Batman: Gotham City Racer is a production developed by Sinister Games studio, which was released on PS1 console by Ubisoft. The game takes us to Gotham City, where we can take part in events based on the motifs of an animated series. Batman's new adventures.
Contrary to what the title suggests, Batman: Gotham City Racer is not a classic racing game. Production allows us to sit at the helm of one of several vehicles. Playing the role of Batman or one of his companions, we take care of order in Gotham City, wandering through his streets in Batmobile or sitting on one of the three Batcycles. By controlling one of the villains (headed by Joker, Riddler and Two-Face) we can sow fire, fleeing the heroses and the justice system. You can navigate through the city using both the target pointer at the top of the screen and the minimap in the lower right corner.
For the PS1 Batman: Gotham City Racer, the authors have prepared three gameplay variants, two of which are designed for solo play. The first one is the feature mode, in which the creators set specific goals for us, and in subsequent missions we are introduced with film interludes taken from the above mentioned series. Our tasks are relatively diverse, just like the course of the game - while in one stage we just have to follow the goal, in another we try to get to the place before the time runs out, while in the next stage we not only have to participate in the chase, but also fight with the opponent, using an extensive arsenal of gadgets (headed by cult Batarangs).
The second mode of the game allows you to become a guardian of the law (whose aim is to reach the place of crime and stop the villains) or to enter the skin of the criminal and escape from the Man-Nietoperz himself.
The title also has a multiplayer mode based on competition, designed to play in the company of the other person - while one player plays the hero, the other takes control of the opponent.
Batman's three-dimensional graphics: Gotham City Racer presents a decent level of performance; the cutscenes from the animated series are noteworthy. The soundtrack consists of six tracks composed by Ray Fabi.
