Release Date: cancelled
A never-released open-world 3rd-person action game from Pandemic Studios. Batman: The Dark Knight was supposed to be an adaptation of the movie with Christian Bale, recreating the events depicted there and allowing players to explore Gotham City freely.
Only the first part of the Batman film trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan received an adaptation in the form of a major video game. This refers to Batman Begins, which was developed by Eurocom. Additionally, The Dark Knight Rises was released, but it was a mobile production of a much smaller scale.
Meanwhile, the team at Pandemic Studios (known for The Saboteur) was working on Batman: The Dark Knight described here. It was intended to be an open-world action game, reminiscent of the 2015 release Batman: Arkham Knight. However, this project was ultimately canceled.
In Batman: The Dark Knight the action was to be viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game would have allowed us to freely explore Gotham City, moving on foot, driving the Batmobile, riding the Batpod, or gliding using the cape.
There would be a focus on doing story missions, during which we would participate in events known from the film original. The game was set to feature actors known from the movies, such as Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman.
The story told in Batman: The Dark Knight was to follow the plot of the film The Dark Knight. Taking on the role of Batman, we would have to face the Joker. It can be assumed that Two-Face would also appear.
Batman: The Dark Knight was to be based on the Odin technology, created earlier for the game The Saboteur.

Batman had no luck with video games for many years, and its bad streak was only broken by the Batman: Arkham series. Nevertheless, another project set in this universe had a fair chance of success, but it was missed.
