Naval Strike is the third DLC expansion for Battlefield 4, expanding it with new functionalities dedicated to multiplayer. This time, the developers from the studio DICE focused on combat at sea, moving the action to the waters of the South China Sea. Traditionally, the extension was made available for the first Premium subscription holders first.
Like the previous DLC for the game, Naval Strike brings 4 new maps designed specifically for multiplayer competition. On Lost Island, we can find a wrecked airliner and a small fishing village. Ine Wave Breaker, we will visit a military port and use a modern submarine to fight our enemies. Nansha Strike focuses on an open sea battle, waged with floating and flying vehicles. In Operation Mortar, we will visit an abandoned resort, situated among tall cliffs.
Another novelty is a set of 5 entirely new weapons, not available in the basic version of the game, two 2 gadgets (3GL grenade launcher and anti-aircraft mines) and an amphibious vehicle designed for use on land and in water. To meet the expectations of the players, the developers also introduced a new game mode called Carrier Assault. It is based on the classic mode, Titan Assault, known from Battlefield 2142, which is a competition between two teams – one of which defends a nuclear carrier, while the other tries to find and detonate its reactor. The competition can take place on many levels, ranging from artillery fire, and ending with close combat on the deck and under the deck of the ship.
