Becastled is a strategy game with elements of city builder and tower defence, with action set in a fantasy world and low poly style graphics. The game was developed by Mana Potion Studios, known for several smaller games. You can test it for free with the demo version.

Mechanics

We start the game by choosing the parameters that affect the rules and difficulty level. We decide how long our adventure should last (or turn off any time limits), on what terrain we will build the castle (low/high hill, plain, etc.), how difficult the combat with attacking enemies should be, how many resources we will receive and how many neutral characters/animals will appear on the map. Then we move on to core gameplay.

Becastled is a game with real-time action and a game-changing day and night system. During the day we develop the castle and at night we fend off attacks from enemy forces. In order to make our settlement function efficiently and resist the enemies, we have to plan all the actions properly. We send our workers to different corners of the map to collect resources, such as wood or stone, from which we then construct the necessary buildings. They are divided into administrative, economic, military and decorative. We use them to train soldiers, recruit workers, take care of food for all inhabitants and strengthen our defensive structures. We can also expand them to strengthen their function.
