Block Blast

The experienced Singaporean studio Hungry Games, known for casual puzzle games, created and released Block Blast for mobile devices in 2022, and later made a version available for play in web browsers. The game was highly inspired by Tetris and gained significant popularity.

Gameplay

The core of the gameplay involves arranging differently shaped blocks so that the vertical or horizontal lines they form connect the edges of the board, creating a solid row or column. When this happens, just like in the famous Tetris, the grid is cleared of that line, and the player earns points.

Unlike Pajitnov's hit, the inserted blocks are static and chosen by us from randomly drawn groups at the bottom of the screen. To avoid a situation where there is no more space for blocks, which means a loss, power-ups are used, obtained through combos.
