An FPP horror game, largely based on the rules of the Russian roulette. Buckshot Roulette has us play against a terrifying croupier and instead of the revolver we use a 12-gauge shotgun. There are various items capable of changing the existing rules of the game.
Buckshot Roulette is an original horror game that defies clear genre classification. The game was developed by an independent developer, Mike Klubnika, who specializes in creating experimental, unconventional projects.
In Buckshot Roulette we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game takes us to a dark nightclub, specifically - to a room where a terrifying croupier is sitting. He invites us to a game which is a variation on Russian roulette. We do not use a revolver, but a 12-gauge shotgun. The game consists of three rounds, and the participant who dies more times loses.
Changing the weapon is not the only element that distinguishes the titular game from standard Russian roulette. The rotation of the revolver drum was replaced by the selection of bullets. Some of them are empty, and over the course of subsequent rounds the number of bullets that we can use (loaded or not) increases. Besides, both participants have health points, so usually a single shot does not kill them.
Over time, various items land on the table that modify the course of the "game" - from handcuffs that deprive the opponent of the opportunity to participate in a given round, through a handball thanks to which the shotgun deals double the amount of damage, ending with a magnifying glass , which allows us to check whether a given cartridge is full or empty. It's also possible to simply aim the weapon at our opponent.
The graphics of the Buckshot Roulette are kept in a retro style, straight from the second half of the 1990s. The gameplay is accompanied by atmospheric club music.
