Once Upon a Time... Life is a arcade puzzle game. It has also a certain educational element - which is not a coincidence, as it is based on the licence of a well-known animated series, telling about the secrets of human body.
Once Upon a Time... Life: Origins is an arcade game with puzzle elements, a bit of action and an educational aspect. Game is based on the license of a famous animated series from the 80s under the same title (in French: Il était une fois... la vie), which presented the way the human body works. It was developed by Gambit Games, a studio from Warsaw, and published by CreativeForge Games (known for creating Phantom Doctrine and Hard West).
We take on the role of the bearded Master known from the series and explore the interior of the human body, including such organs as lungs, bronchi, stomach, intestines, brain and spine. We meet many other characters known from the cartoon and we have the opportunity to get to know them better, help them and also learn something from them.
We move through the human body, walking on 2D platforms. Visiting different organs, we learn how they work and what their main tasks are. While gaining knowledge we are simultaneously solving various logical challenges (puzzles, riddles that require knowledge and a bit of thinking) and arcade challenges (for which we need focus and reflexes).
In Once Upon a Time... Life: Origins we can play solo, but the game was designed to be played in asymmetrical co-op on a shared screen, where the characters controlled by the players have different, complementary skills.
Graphics in the game, both the characters and the environment, reminds us of the style of the original TV series for kids.
