An RPG played like a life simulation game, taking us back to the times of the Wild West. Cattle Country is not only about taking care of the farm animals. We can also explore the frontier, meet new characters, complete missions, build, craft items or use our revolver during gunfights.
Cattle Country is an RPG offered as a life simulation game set in the Wild West. The game was developed by the independent American studio Castle Pixel, which has Rex Rocket and Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King (along with its sequel) in its portfolio.
In Cattle Country we watch the action from a bird's eye view. During the game, we take on the role of a character who arrives at the frontier to start a new life. As one of the so-called pioneers, we must put down roots in the place we have chosen and become part of the community, for better or for worse.
Cattle Country allows us to experience the charms of life in the Wild West. Although taking care of the titular cattle is our main task, it is just the tip of the iceberg of the duties awaiting us. During the game, we explore the surroundings, gather resources that we use for building and crafting, and also spend time on activities such as farming or fishing. The icing on the cake is the possibility of hunting wild game and venturing into mines (where the camera changes perspective to a side view, much like in the Spelunky series), searching for precious minerals.
In addition to this, as we progress, we get to know the inhabitants of this land and familiarize ourselves with the problems that plague them, as well as carry out quests assigned by them. Among the NPCs, there are those with whom we can establish closer acquaintances. Over time, they can turn into fiery romances, and from there it's a straight path to marriage. Given that the frontier is not free from conspiracies and shady characters, from time to time we even have to reach for weapons and participate in gunfights.
