Cesar Millan's Dog Whisperer is an educational game developed with dog owners in mind. The game aims to instruct players on the most popular dog training techniques and proper interpretation of their pet’s behavior.
The game touches on roughly 40 topics. The information was collected in cooperation with Cesar Millan, a world-class dog trainer from Mexico, and the host of Dog Whisperer TV show, aired on National Geographic Channel.
The player takes on the role of an inexperienced apprentice of Cesar’s. During in-game lessons we gain both theoretical and practical knowledge. In the case of the latter we are faced with various problems, which require interaction with digital animals. The friendly canines are described with several statistics, such as obedience and playfulness. It is also important to observe their reaction to your actions.
The developers chose to maximally simplify the user interface. The controls of thePC version are based entirely on the mouse, enabling us to give out commands and open menus with one tool. The PC edition also looks much better than its Nintendo DS counterpart, which is apparent e.g. in the quality of animal models.
