City States is a real-time strategy that tries to present faithfully the history of the development of our civilization and allows the player to become the leader of the late Mesozoic tribes and lead them through the successive stages of human development.

Authors stipulate that unlike similar games of this type, where the whole development is based in 90 percent on military progress and continuous struggle, without looking at any consequences or implications of subsequent conquests, City States is a comprehensive simulator of state development, taking into account a number of dependencies affecting the functioning and fate of the nation, including: politics, climate, diplomacy, technology, geography, religion, culture, morale, patriotism, social condition, availability of resources and many others.

The City States action takes place in a fully interactive world, where each player's decision has specific consequences, be it intra-state (or tribal) or inter-state relations. The game world consists of numerous human settlements, towns or villages and is inhabited by hundreds of different people (each with their own name, character, duties, etc.).

  • Engine graphic of its own production (isometric view).
  • More than 60 basic military units, which can be armed with more than 15 types of weapons and 30 types of additional equipment, giving a total of more than 400 different variations.
  • Up to 32 thousand soldiers who can be represented in the game (a standard military formation consists of about 200 soldiers).
  • 140 different building structures in four architectural styles.
  • Huge-size maps on which the action takes place.
  • More than 30 types of national characteristics, whose task is to recreate the behaviour of specific nations, combat tactics, used equipment, etc.
