Class of Heroes 2G is an expanded port for Class of Heroes II, which was a huge success on PlayStation Portable. The authors of the series, the Japanese ZeroDiv studio, watched over the creation of the game. The game was originally released only on the Japanese market by Acquire. Only after nearly 4 years since the premiere, thanks to the efforts of the Gaijinworks / Monkey Paw duo, the localized version of Class of Heroes 2G received players in the USA.

This title belongs to the species dungeon crawlers, which means that we spend most of our time exploring extensive underground. Not only hidden treasures, but also full of dangers await the daredevils. At the beginning of the game we complete the team, choosing from a wide range of characters of different races and classes. Your choice affects hero statistics and combat mechanics.

The creators of the game have prepared an intuitive combat system that allows you to fight with up to a dozen opponents. Unlike most jRPG productions, they are played very quickly thanks to simplified command issuance. In this way, heroes eliminate hostile enemies faster and thus advance to the next level of experience. From time to time, players clash with extremely powerful bosses, which, if defeated, guarantee additional rewards.

We observe the action from the first person perspective, moving in leaps and bounds on a three-dimensional map, as was the case in the cult series Wizardry or Might & Magic. All characters are two-dimensional drawings maintained in a characteristic manga style. The creators also provided an appropriate dose of humour, including absurd opponents with a cursed bed at the forefront.

Compared to the original from the PSP console, the graphic design has been slightly improved and dialogues performed by live actors have been taken care of. Remake also offers much more underworlds, special abilities, new monsters and team members. The U.S. version of the game has been additionally enriched with a special "dual-screen play" option, allowing access to maps and heroes' statistics on a mobile PSP or PS Vita console connected to PlayStation 3.
