A retro roguelike RPG action game, combining hackíníslash genre with narrative adventure game features, developed by Dead Mage studio. The titular Morta is a mountain guarded by many generations of the Bergson family. When a mysterious power defiles the source of life within the mountain, turning local creatures into bloodthirsty monsters, we must set on journey as subsequent members of the family to gather seeds of life and stop the spread of chaos. Gameplay in Children of Morta focuses on exploring procedurally generated levels, collecting items and arcade battles against monsters. This is complemented by a typical character progression system and equipment, with the addition of alchemy and crafting. Despite its old-school formula, the game stands out with its rich, multi-threaded plot and difficult moral choices that affect the story.

While exploring ruins of an old castle and its dungeons, you face off against forces of darkness that overwhelmed the land because of the reckless actions of its previous sovereign. As you delve into the depths, you discover the dark history of a family who brought the evil upon the world. The gameplay focuses on dungeon crawling - dungeons filled with traps and crawling with monsters that need to be dealt with during turn-based combat sequences. An original idea is the sanity indicator of your heroes. Each team member has different personality and reacts differently to what is happening around him/her. Therefore, while playing you should keep an eye on their well being and fear levels, alleviating their stress by drinking alcohol or brawling, if needed.
The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut

The fourth installment in the legendary RPG series launched back in the mid-80s. The title was developed by inXile entertainment thanks to the funds raised at Kickstarter, and its production was overseen by Brian Fargo, the creator of the initial entry of the franchise. The action takes place in the fantasy world known from previous installments of the series. The city of Skara Brae is its center. From there, the players set out to conquer numerous ruins and dungeons leading a party consisting of various races and classes, which influences the course of the plot as well as the attitude of the encountered NPCs. The available locations are grid-based in design, while combat takes place in an unusual, phase turn-based system that allows our party members to perform two actions simultaneously and thus achieve a synergy effect of various skill combinations. Bardic music also plays an important role during the fights. The ballads were recorded in Gaelic language.

An expanded version of a popular indie game that has been released in 2011 by Team Meat studio. Nicalis studio, a bit more experienced team, has been involved in refreshing of the title, in cooperation with original developers. When it comes to mechanics, the gameplay hasnít changed much, offering randomly-generated levels, traversed by the titular Isaac, who solves simple puzzles and eliminates monsters or much more powerful bosses. The main difference between the Flash-based original, is a completely new graphic engine, introducing new, improved visuals and a number of innovations that, as a result of technological limitations, hadnít made their way into the original. The developers included the whole base game and its two DLCs, and introduced a number of novelties. A local co-op mode has been incorporated in the game, allowing two players to take part in a joint playthrough on one screen.

Might & Magic X: Legacy is the tenth installment in the legendary cRPG series, and the first one created by Limbic Entertainment. The game is set in the fantasy world of Ashan, after the events of Might & Magic: Heroes VI. The City of Karthal, located on the Agyn Peninsula, is on the brink of seceding from the Holy Empire. Four adventurers, controlled by the player, become involved in a conspiracy, which can affect the fate of the whole kingdom. Mechanics-wise, Might & Magic X: Legacy is based on the earliest installments of the series and features e.g. turn-based combat, a wide range of weapons and equipment, and expansive skill developing options.

A unique mix of a classic dungeon crawler and a dynamic, two-dimensional shooter from the debuting American studio, Dodge Roll. We play as a hero seeking for the legendary weapon that can change the past of a distant planet. To achieve his goal, he must explore the eponymous ancient temple where many dangers and surprises await him. Featuring a top-down view, the game tasks us with exploration of randomly generated levels of the temple. We come across numerous enemies and bosses, as well various shops and friendly characters that will help us in our journey. The gameís combat system is based on classic twin-stick shooters, allowing us to use environmental objects as weapons in addition to an already vast selection of guns and gadgets.

Considered the spiritual successor to the classic Ultima Underworld, Underworld Ascendant is a first-person cRPG developed by OtherSide Entertainment, a team led by Paul Neurath - the co-creator of Ultima. The game is set in the Stygian Abyss, a place known among the fans of the series - an underground world inhabited by three races that fight for power. Assuming the role of a character described by one of the three available classes, the player picks one side of the conflict in order to experience an epic adventure in a world filled with underground towns, mazes, temples, huge cavern systems, as well as dense forests. The game is played from the first-person view; as for combat, the game utilizes a real-time system which involves use of traditional weapons and spells. Apart from individual skills of one's character, in order to succeed, one also has to pay attention to their mobility, reflexes, and the ability to take advantage of the shape of terrain. What is distinctive about the game, the player is given a lot of freedom concerning their approach to gameplay, and the events change in a dynamic way in response to the player's actions.

Tower of Time is an RPG set in a fantasy realm that stands on the brink of destruction. The player assumes the role of a warrior, who, along with a party, decides to explore a mysterious tower that may hold a key to stopping the apocalypse. Gameplay mechanics in Tower of Time mostly rely on exploration of the game world, completing missions, fighting foes, and developing your heroes. Characters represent different classes and have a variety of attacks and special skills at their disposal. Besides, many of them can have impact on their environment. Combat is observed from top-down perspective and played in real time, but itís possible to briefly slow down time so that you can give orders to your heroes. Throughout the campaign you traverse the 13 floors of the tower, which amounts to 20-30 hours of gameplay. In between missions, you regularly visit a local town in order to regain strength and replenish supplies and equipment. Some buildings in the town can be upgraded, which unlocks new gear and abilities.

The work of a one-man Canadian studio Brace Yourself Games in the form of a unique independent production that combines features of seemingly contrasting elements of a roguelike RPG and a dancing game. Crypt of the NecroDancer lets us play as a girl named Cadence, who sets on a journey to find her missing father. It leads her to the mysterious crypt ruled by an evil demon known as NecroDancer. It casts an unusual curse on the protagonist, making her heart always beat in rhythm of a music. As far as its mechanics go, NecroDancer is and old school action RPG. We explore procedurally generated dungeons and fight various monsters using weapons and magic. What makes the game unique is the fact that enemies move to the rhythm of music, and Cadence must adjust to their dance to defeat them. Each enemy she encounters has his unique style, and discovering the correct combination of moves is the key to success.

Hades: Battle Out of Hell is another production of the talented Supergiant Games studio, which has given us titles such as Bastion, Transistor and Pyre. This time the creators prepared a spectacular, roguelike dungeon crawler, set in a world known from Greek mythology.

Created by the independent developer Team Meat, who also created Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike action shooter with RPG elements. In game, the player becomes Isaac and travels through successive randomly generated dungeons, similar to the ones in the first installments of The Legend of Zelda series. Each level is filled with scores of enemies, demanding boss fights, and classical puzzles. To solve the latter, the player needs to gather items such as coins, bombs, keys, or special cards. The game features an unique character progression system, instead of the experience gained strength of the character depends on special weapon upgrades or magic artifacts, which can be bought in shops or found in special chests and hidden rooms. Thanks to the ability to combine pieces equipment, as the story progress the main character becomes more powerful. The cartoonish visuals of the game are a call back to the simple action games from the 8-bit era.

A huge (approximately up to for 200 hours of gameplay) DLC expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth from Nicalis studio. It isnít standalone title, requiring the base game to play. Afterbirth introduces many novelties, including a new final area with a unique boss and ending. However, it doesnít change the game mechanics, as we once again play a roguelike arcade title, exploring randomly generated locations, discovering secrets and fighting enemies. The gameplay is diversified with additional content in the form of new character, Lilith, new monsters and bosses, as well as previously unavailable items, challenges and locations. What's more, the DLC also modified the interface and expanded the soundtrack. Lastly, players received a new game mode called Greed Mode, in which they take great risks to obtain unique rewards.

Second DLC for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth developed by Nicalis studio. It adds tens of unique items to create more surprising combinations, new monsters to defeat, the special bestiary that describes them, and bonus rooms that form a huge labyrinth. Aside from that, the add-on features more difficult Greed mode and an additional chapter, as well as a new playable character and five unique challenges. However, the most important novelty is the added support of modding tools, which allows players to freely modify the most important elements of the game and create new equipment, monsters, characters and even whole campaigns or game modes.

A roguelike hack'n'slash game featuring pixel-art visuals. Crawl was designed specifically for local multiplayer and developed by the debuting team at Powerhoof. In the game, heroes exploring dungeons encounter monsters defending the place against undesired visitors. Up to four players can meet in a session - one of them assumes the role of the hero traversing dungeons filled with threats. The remaining players control various monsters, whose task is to prepare traps and obstacles in order to make it more difficult for the hero to achieve their goal. In terms of mechanics, the game resembles classic roguelike RPGs, in which the player gathers parts of equipment scattered throughout dungeons and levels up gradually, improving their skills. When the hero dies, the players swap their roles, but interestingly, the new hero keeps both the items and experience gathered by the player who was previously in control of that character. Once the hero has reached level 10, they go through a mysterious portal and the final boss fight begins.

A unique combination of a card game and a simple RPG created by Irish one-man studio Gambrinous. In Guild of Dungeoneering you play as a leader of a run-down adventurers' guild, and your task is to gain glory, gather riches, and take the competition down a peg. The gameplay is focused mostly on developing your guild's headquarters, adding new rooms and unlocking new character classes, equipment and magical items. In order to get money to spend on all of that, you have to send your heroes to do various quests in the dungeons. However, instead of controlling your hero, you build a labyrinth out of cards around them, and the hero moves in it as they please. The gameplay is divided into turns, during which you select dungeon and enemy cards. In case of encountering an opponent, combat begins and its result depends on both your hero's stats and the attack cards you play with.

Vaporum is a steampunk RPG developed by Fatbot Games. In the game, the player assumes control of a group of daredevils who are trapped on a mysterious island with only one way to escape - they have to reach the top of the mighty tower filled with traps, secret passages, and hordes of enemies. The game represents the genre of dungeon crawlers. One observes the action from the first-person perspective, however, they can turn only by 90 degrees to the left and right. The game utilizes a tile-by-tile movement system, while combat takes place in real time. During the game, one can develop their characters - this does not mean improving their statistics, rather enhancing their mechanical armors, which also can be equipped with diverse gadgets which draw energy from the exo-rig. The game combines old-school mechanics foundations with modern visuals and simple interface.

A tactical cRPG, created by Iron Tower Ė an independent studio, responsible for the highly-praised Age of Decadence. The player enters a fantasy universe, known from the previous games from the studio, connecting Roman Empire stylistics with post-apocalyptic fantasy. In this installment, we assume the role of a prisoner sentenced to spend the rest of his life as a slave in an enormous mine. His only hope is fighting his way back to the surface. The gameplay in Dungeon Rats focuses around combat, with each encounter being unique and directed manually. The battles are turn-based, and the key to success lies not only in using the heroís abilities, but also in making use of your companions. Our party can hold up to four adventurers, but the acquired experience points are split up between all members Ė a more numerous party translates into slower growth of the individual heroes. The game is characteristic for its high difficulty level Ė even the easiest one may prove to be difficult for many players.
