Con Man: The Game is a humorous economic strategy game. The game employs a free to play model with microtransactions and was developed by Monkey Strength Productions.

Story

The game is based on the license of a web series titled Con Man, created by Alan Tudyk, i.e. an actor known mainly for his role in the iconic Firefly. The creator plays the main role in it, and on set he is accompanied by Nathan Fillon (Firefly, Castle). The project is a comedy that laughs at the whole science fiction industry. Tudyk takes on the role of Wray Nerely, who appeared in the SF series Spectrum. Like Firefly, it was canceled after only one season and then gained a cult following. This makes Nearly very popular at conventions, but apart from the few people who recognize him, he does not get any professional proposals and barely makes ends meet. Worse still, he is constantly infuriated by another actor from Spectrum, Jack Moore (played by Fillon), who became a great film star after the cancellation of the show.

Con Man: The Game casts us as an organizer of conventions attended by characters from fictional series and films, including Wray Nerely and Jack Moore. In the game, there are also many other threads and characters from the original series.

Mechanics

Con Man: The Game is an economic strategy in which we prepare an event and then make sure that all goes smoothly, so that we can finally receive funds as a reward, which we then spend on the next convention. While playing, the user has to build stands, employ staff, attract cosplaying fans and take care to attract celebrities to the event. The game does not limit itself to science fiction and we can also take care of the needs of fantasy, horror and superhero enthusiasts. It is also necessary to deal with problems such as toilet malfunctions, exhibitionist grannies, overflowing litter bins attracting rats or even invasions of actual aliens.

The better our convention, the more guests visit it, which in turn brings more income, which we then spend on inviting more famous celebrities and creating better stands. All this must be balanced financially so as not to lead to bankruptcy.

The game features a completely absurd atmosphere and fans of science fiction series will recognize many familiar elements and people. For example, we can hire Joseph Whedon as a member of the cleaning team, and Kevin Smith as a bodyguard.
