Hollywood is a place commonly associated with fame and glamour. However, the creators of the game Confidential Killings, i.e. independent developers Brane and Lorenzo Boni, convince that under the cloak of wealth and lavish life of its inhabitants there are dark secrets.
In Confidential Killings, most of the time is spent watching almost entirely static game boards showing the characters and the locations they are in, as well as the events they are involved in. Items picked up and conversations with suspects and witnesses are shown using a variety of dialog boxes. In addition, there is a special screen for reconstructing events.
The main element of the gameplay is our investigation. In order to solve the mystery of the title murders, we must carefully scour the locations (including the crime scenes) in search of evidence and clues that will lead us to the right track. In addition, we interrogate potential witnesses, as conversations with them can also be a source of valuable information.
When we think we know everything we need to know about the murder, we can move on to the aforementioned reconstruction screen. There we complete the description of the course of events, filling it in with keywords gathered during the investigation.
The action of the game Confidential Killings takes place in Hollywood. During the game we play the role of a detective whose task is to unravel the mystery of mysterious, seemingly unrelated murders. Their victims are both actors, writers and producers, and we must discover who is behind them.
Creating the graphic design of Confidential Killings, the authors focused on a style straight out of noir comic books.
