An episodic adventure game based on the popular Fables comic book series. The Wolf Among Us was developed by Telltale Games, studio that used the same mechanics as in its previous title, The Walking Dead. The protagonists are fairy creatures that were forced to look for a safe haven in the human world where they must hide their true nature. During the game the player can encounter many characters known from the comic books – including the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White or Ichabod Crane. The gameplay is focused mostly on visiting locations, conversing with NPCs, solving riddles and making hard decisions. The Wolf Among Us employs comic book-like visuals and, as usual, cel-shading.

A noir detective action adventure game developed by the Australian studio Team Bondi in cooperation with the veterans from Rockstar Games. The game invites you into Los Angeles of the 1940’s, a city filled with corruption and drug dealing organizations. You assume the role of Cole Phelps, an ex-soldier who becomes a police officer after the war. The game lets you experience the key moments of Cole’s career, starting from the traffic police all the way through murder and drugs department. Gameplay is mainly about examining crime scenes in search of clues and evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects. The game also offers multiple action sequences, including pursuits (either on foot or by car), fist fights, and spectacular shootouts. When it comes to graphics, the most noteworthy feature are the realistic face expressions that allow you to judge the reactions of interogatees. The game overflows with a noir atmosphere characteristic of the 1940’ and 50’ movies.

An action-adventure game developed by RSK Entertainment, based on authentic events from Iran’s history. The plot of Dark Years takes us to 1950s, where, as a result of a secret pact between Great Britain and USA, a democratically chosen government led by Mohammad Mosaddegh is overthrown, resulting in a serious political crisis as well as destabilization and violence among local communities. A tech-noir tactical action game with a spy thriller setting. All Walls Must Fall is set in 2089, in an alternative reality in which the Berlin Wall never fell and the Cold War still lasts. To make things worse, the rivalry between the East and the West has resulted in a nuclear disaster. You play as a group of intelligence agents, who travel back in time and get one night to prevent the catastrophe from happening. The decisions you make during the game can have a great effect on the world's future. The gameplay in All Walls Must Fall is shown in an isometric view. The game takes place in procedurally generated locations — mostly in Berlin nightclubs, which allows you to hide in the crowd — and your main tasks are exploration and gathering important information from NPCs. The game also features a tactical combat mode with an active pause option. An important element of the game is turning back time, which helps you to avoid the consequences of your oversights. The visuals have been inspired by communist propaganda posters.

The story begins with an alleged suicide of a washed-out Hollywood star whose corpse is found hanging from a tower at a local amusement park. The game stands out with an well-developed noir narrative told through the cutscenes. The player assumes the role of a young sniper entering the ranks of an elite organization of contract assassins known as The Assembly. Murders he commits take their toll on the mental condition of the protagonist, and he has not joined a criminal organization without a reason. The gameplay consists of eliminating targets at long distances using a sniper rifle. When taking a shot, both gravity and wind direction have to be taken into account. However, it is not enough to shoot at everything that moves - the player has to understand the relations between the positions of the guards in order to make a progress. Thus the levels resemble puzzle solving in that aspect. The gameplay is diversified with hand-to-hand combat sequences and dynamic shoot-outs. The game offers simple visuals resembling a comic strip.

The game once again relies on the setting of hardboiled novels, only this time set in Asia, where the protagonist has been framed for a crime he did not commit. Framed 2 employs comics panel-based narrative, constructed in a way that will allow the protagonist to get out of trouble.
