In 2022, a boomer shooter titled Cultic saw the light of day. The game turned out to be such a big success that its creator, the independent developer Jason Smith, known as Jasozz Games, started working on its narrative sequel. Eventually, it took the form of an addition to Cultic, titled Cultic: Chapter Two.

New features in the expansion

In Cultic: Chapter Two we once again have to escape from the clutches of death. The arena of our actions is the city of New Grandewel, which has been devastated and taken over by cultists. Our task, of course, is to take it back from the invaders, while there is still something to take back.

Campaign, opponents, arsenal

Although formally we are dealing with an add-on, the described position offers a longer campaign than the original, allowing to explore previously inaccessible maps and face brand new enemies. Among the latter, the bosses are leading, and we eliminate them by making use of the arsenal known from the base version of the game, which is supplemented by the so-called "temporary weapons", including a machine gun and a bazooka.

Improved dodges and jumps, shields, maps for survival mode

This is not the end, as the expansion also introduces improvements to the mechanics of dodges and jumps. The first ones were accelerated, while the second ones were combined with a direct attack on the opponent, which allows to make the gameplay more aggressive. The developer also focused on shields, which are easier to throw at enemies and which can be stuck into the ground, providing temporary stationary cover.
