Dark Deception combines the elements of survival horror and arcade game in the style of cult Pac-Man. We travel through dark labyrinths in search of fragments of a magical artifact and try to avoid contact with terrifying enemies. The first stage of Dark Deception can be checked for free, however, access to the next stage requires a fee to be paid.
Dark Deception is a unique game combining elements of survival horror and arcade games inspired by iconic Pac-Man. The game was developed by the independent Glowstick Entertainment studio and is distributed in its original form. While the first stage can be completed completely free of charge, the next stages, issued at regular intervals, have to be paid for.
In Dark Deception players assume the role of the hero trapped in an alternate, nightmarish reality by a mysterious woman named Bierce. The protagonist will die unless he collects all the fragments of a magical artifact for his oppressor.
In Dark Deception, the action is shown from a first person perspective (FPP). As players dive into the story, they run through vast labyrinth-like locations and collect the crystals scattered across them; obtaining them all gives the player access to one of the elements of the artifact and leaving the site. The position of the crystals can be seen on the minimap presenting the layout of a given level.
It's complicated by the fact that like in Pac-Man players are constantly being chased by a variety of opponents (who only appear in a given place, such as toys reminiscent of those from the Five Nights at Freddy'sseries, which can be found at a gloomy hotel, or a possessed girl strolling through the corridors of a ghastly school), to whom players are almost completely defenceless. Almost, because as they progress, they gain experience points that allow them to purchase powers that gives them a certain advantage over opponents. Thanks to these powers, one can, for example, stun opponents or view their position on the map. One should remember that enemies are not the only threat to the hero; various traps, among other things, are also dangerous.
Dark Deception has decent-quality 3D visuals. Both the elements of the environment and the opponents have been designed with attention to detail. The pace of the gameplay is intensified by the soundtrack that makes the heart beat faster.
