Duper Games is a French development studio from Montpellier, which decided to start its activity by tackling the genre of tactical games. Day of the Shell is the debut project of this team. It is a hybrid of tactical and roguelike genres, which thanks to its unique mechanics can boast more dynamic gameplay than most titles of this type.

Gameplay

In Day of the Shell we watch the action in an isometric view.

Fast, tactical gameplay

The game takes place on boards covered with a grid of square fields, and its mainstay is exploring locations and dealing with enemies wandering around them.

The battles are turn-based, with each click being equivalent to making a move. Even though this makes the gameplay more dynamic, it does not come at the expense of tactics.
