An retro-stylized action adventure game with survival elements, developed by the Rocket Games studio. In Death Road to Canada the player's task is to travel the eponymous route from Florida to the city of Ontario in Canada and to survive the hordes of zombies attacking us along the way. In the game we control a team of up to five characters (human or animal), each of which has its own unique virtues and vices.
Death Road to Canada, released on PC, iOS, etc., is a 2D action game in top-down view. It was created by Rocketcat Games studio operating since 2009, the creators of Mage Gauntlet, Wayward Souls and Punch Quest.
Our task in Death Road to Canada is to eliminate zombie hordes, but this time the whole story offers a large dose of humor. We have to secure the route from Florida to Ontario, Canada and survive the hordes of zombies. Creatures behave in a typical way: they are slow, stupid, but they never stop chasing the heroes. In order to deal with a difficult and long journey, the player has to collect supplies, find other survivors and effectively eliminate starved zombies.
A very important aspect of the game is to create a team and maintain a positive atmosphere in it. A team of survivors can consist of up to five characters (people or animals), each of which has unique features, appearance, name and quirks. The player's behavior and interactions between the characters can provoke quarrels and conflicts, or lead the characters to a state of despair, rage or madness.
Almost all elements of the game are generated randomly so that the story is slightly different every time: the appearance of cities, team members and the challenges.
Death Road to Canada is characterized by simple "pixelated" graphics and - as mentioned at the beginning - a large dose of humor, visible even in the appearance of the characters themselves.
Death Road to Canada was created largely thanks to financial support from Kickstarter. By paying larger donations, the authors made it possible for players to leave their mark in the game by placing their pet ($500), creating a text for one of the journals that can be found in the game ($1,000) or designing a team member ($2,000).

Destructoid: 8 / 10 by Jordan Devore
And that's why they call it Death Road to Canada. It can be too harsh for its own good, and folks who are tired of roguelikes will struggle to embrace that part of the design, but it's still one of the better road-trip games I've played thanks to its cheerful personality, amusing writing, and all-around charm.
GameGrin: 10 / 10 by Ethan Butterfield
Death Road to Canada is a joyful return to the simpler things in gaming. While it may not have the power of a AAA developer behind it, it certainly does have what AAA developers lack nowadays, a sense of fun.
PlayStation Universe: 9 / 10 by John-Paul Jones
A fiendishly constructed zombie mashing roguelike with a veritable mountain of stuff to do, Death Road to Canada is the hilarious, ever-compelling road trip odyssey you never knew you wanted.
