Deceit is a multiplayer shooter with elements of survival horror. The action takes place in a psychiatric hospital. Four people take on the role of healthy patients trying to escape and the other two are bloodthirsty monsters, the aim of the latter is to hunt the rest of the players and prevent them from completing the mission.
Deceit is a multiplayer shooter with survival horror elements developed by the independent studio Automaton. The title was released on PC, where it is distributed in a free-to-play model.
In Deceit the player takes on the role of one of the six wretches who wake up in a psychiatric hospital. Two of the people are infected with a virus that enables them to turn them into bloodthirsty monsters - while the task set for the healthy participants is to escape, the infected must at all costs prevent them from doing so.
The foundation of Deceit is an asymmetric multiplayer mode. During the game we explore the gloomy facility and the surrounding areas, performing missions, the completion of which guarantees us access to more and more locations and a richer arsenal of weapons and gadgets. Regardless of whether we play the role of a healthy or infected person at a given moment, we can use a knife, a pistol and a shotgun, among others.
However, the presence of traps and a special scanner to identify infected people will be appreciated by non-infected people in the first place; however, it is not necessary as it is also possible to identify the vectors of the virus through careful observation of the behavior of the other participants of the game.
Infected people must not only sabotage the actions of their potential victims, but also acquire blood bags - thanks to which, when the lights go out, they can turn into powerful monsters, with greater strength and speed and the ability to see in the dark. All this increases their chances of success during the hunt for victims looking for fuses to restore power.
Deceit features decent graphics. Gloomy colors and scarce lighting help to achieve the appropriate atmosphere.
