Gameplay

In Defect we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The driving force of the game are missions, during which we end up in different corners of the city and complete the goals set for us. The missions in the game vary depending on which side we support - they include participating in arms smuggling, eliminating targets, or arresting suspects.

We are not condemned to a lonely journey, because we join up with other players in teams of four. Completing tasks is constantly hindered by opponents, whom we eliminate, primarily using firearms. Our command center is a radio car (if we play as the "law" guard) or a gang hideout, where we can regroup and prepare for the next battles.

Game modes

Defect was prepared mainly with the intention of online multiplayer. Four teams, each consisting of four people, can take part in it. Interestingly, both the teams standing on the opposite side of the barricade, as well as the teams representing our side of the conflict, are our opponents here. We can compete for merits and rewards.

Engine and soundtrack

Defect runs on Unreal Engine 5. Mick Gordon, best known for his music for the games Doom and Doom Eternal, was responsible for the soundtrack for this project.
