Degrees of Separation is a platformer enriched with adventure elements. The production was developed by an independent studio Moondrop, and its feature layer was supervised by the famous Chris Avellone, whose portfolio includes such titles as Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 2, Wasteland 2, Prey and Dying Light 2.
The main characters in Degrees of Separation are Ember and Rime, a couple of lovers living in two different worlds; while Ember comes from the land of eternal heat, Rime arrives from a frosty place. Trying to meet them ends in a clash of these dimensions - in order to get closer to each other, they both have to learn to cooperate and use their unique abilities.
In Degrees of Separation the action was shown from the side. During the game we travel through various locations, each of which has two versions - the frosty one surrounding Rime and the hot one appearing near Ember. This interesting procedure was used in designing environmental riddles, requiring such manipulation of the environment to enable both protagonists to overcome a given obstacle and set off on their way.
Although Degrees of Separation allows you to play alone, the game is designed primarily for multiplayer co-op mode. Together with the other player you can play on the Internet or on a shared screen.
Degrees of Separation has two-dimensional graphics in an eye-catching, colourful design reminiscent of animated films.
