Demiurgos

The Argentine studio Tlön Industries made its mark on the industry map in December 2020, with the release of the strategy game titled Per Aspera. For the needs of their next project, the developers decided on a drastic change of atmosphere. Although Demiurgos is another strategy game in this team's portfolio, this time the creators do not transport us to a sci-fi world, but to a universe straight out of mythology.

Gameplay

In Demiurgos we embody mythical deities from various corners of the world. Among them we will find Marduk (Mesopotamia), Loki (Scandinavia), Anubis (Egypt), Mars (Rome) or Poseidon (Greece). As one of them, we participate in a game hosted by the titular, mysterious Demiurgos.

Cosmic game

"The game" takes place at a cosmic table symbolizing the surface of a flat world, and the goal of each of its participants is to defeat the others. This can be achieved by collecting as many so-called "Celestial Titles" as possible - they are the local equivalent of victory points.

Good and bad deities

To achieve victory, we need followers. The game allows us to indirectly influence the actions of people, as well as the entire presented world, by using various divine powers. Each deity was equipped with individual abilities reflecting their nature, allowing for things like changing the terrain (and creating mountains, lakes or rivers), controlling the weather (invoke tornadoes) and performing miracles.
