A simulation game in which we sit at the helm of a locomotive and undertake various orders involving the transport of varied loads. Derail Valley was created with virtual reality sets in mind, but does not require them to work.
Derail Valley is a simulation game in which players assume the role of an engineer and a railway entrepreneur. The game was created by the independent studio called Altfuture and although it was designed with virtual reality sets in mind, it does not require them to work.
In Derail Valley the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). The game gives players an open world with an area of 256 square kilometers at their disposal; the picturesque landscapes abound in dense forests, vast plains, river and lake valleys, and finally canyons along with mountain peaks. During the game, players' task is to obtain orders from fifteen industries, involving the transportation of thirty types of cargo. The money earned this way can be used not only to purchase better locomotives (and gaining rights to manage them), but first of all - for service and maintenance of the already owned depot.
During the game players sit at the controls of steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, which they operate by hand using various switches, levers, and valves. At the same time, the indications of any ointment of clocks and tracks in front of the player should be observed; trains are susceptible to damage, and in it is not difficult to derail when taking a turn (if we exaggerate with speed). All this is not easy, but the detailed and clear instructions help a lot.
3D visuals of Derail Valley present high quality. Players can enjoy the colourful, varied open air and the detailed locomotive cabins.
