Mechanics

Deus Ex: Breach for PC is a first-person shooter set in cyberspace. Although the action is presented from the first-person perspective (FPP), the game occasionally (e.g. while in cover) switches the view to one from behind the protagonist’s back. Every server we break into is a visually different location which is densely filled with various enemies and security measures.

Tasks we have to accomplish are varied: they include stealing valuable data or eliminating specific adversaries. Apart from that, we often have to take part in simple story missions — users of the so-called Darknet often ask hackers for various favors such as investigating a weapon manufacturer who is suspected of working on an incredibly dangerous technology.

For our successes, we are awarded credits that can be spent on Booster Packs — special content packs with equipment: from disposable items, through server modificators (that change the difficulty level) and Praxis kits, to new kinds of weapons. Players who would like to developer their character faster can make use of the built-in micropayment system. Not only does it let us purchase additional packs for real currency but also skins for the protagonist and his equipment.

Game modes

Deus Ex: Breach offers only a single player mode. Some sense of online competition is given by the internet leaderboards where we can boast our scores.

Technical aspects

The three-dimensional graphics of Deus Ex: Breach for PC bring the Polish SUPERHOT to mind. The game’s visual layer can be therefore considered appealing — it has an unusual style and almost all of its elements are composed of polygons.
