Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi for PS3 and X360 was developed by Spike, the creators of such titles as Crimson Tears and Escape from Bug Island. Since 2005, the Japanese developer cooperates with Namco Bandai and develops the fighting game series set in the Dragon Ball universe: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball: Raging Blast. Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is a successor to the Tenkaichi cycle. The developers decided to introduce a number of changes into the gameplay mechanics and visual layer of in-game battles.

The game allows us to assume the role of our favorite characters from the Dragon Ball universe, including Goku and Vegeta. An extensive plot, based mostly on the Z series, serves as a background to spectacular fights which are the main feature of Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi.

Fights take place on spacious and varied arenas, while fighters can use an arsenal of special attacks and powers. Combatants’ actions also have an influence on the environment which can be deformed or destroyed. The developers of Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi for PS3 and X360 decided to simplify the controls. The game also received a new, more intuitive interface.

Technical aspects

Moreover, changes were introduced to the visual layer. The action can still be observed from behind the character’s back, while subsequent duels are interspersed with film cutscenes. The looks of heroes is also closer to their cartoon counterparts.
