In 2018, DUSK, a boomer shooter developed by David Szymanski and published by New Blood Interactive, appeared on PCs and, in time, also on consoles. Years later, it lived to see a spin-off in the form of Dungeons of DUSK, which is a classic dungeon crawler developed by 68k Studios, which specializes in the genre.
In Dungeons of DUSK, events are viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP).
The action of this production takes place between the episodes of the original DUSK. We traverse the title dungeons in a "jumping" manner characteristic of the genre. Exploring the dungeons, we are mainly engaged in turn-based battles with opponents. Both enemies known from the original and completely new adversaries stand in our way.
As we progress, we accumulate better and better white and firearms (pistol, shotgun, submachine gun and a grenade launcher), while ammunition and other useful equipment (including first aid kits) can be purchased from the merchant. In addition, on the battlefield we use a variety of skills, the range of which we expand as we progress.
The mainstay of Dungeons of DUSK is a campaign divided into 30 levels. In addition, there is an arena mode, where we face waves of enemies, a boss rush module, which allows us to face more bosses, as well as a survival mode that puts our skills to the ultimate test.
The graphic design of Dungeons of DUSK is kept in the familiar retro style of DUSK games, referring to games from the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
