Development of the game Enemy in Sight for PC have been suspended and will not be continued.
Enemy in Sight is a war action/FPS game created in the Czech development studio Illusion Softworks known to us for such hits as Hidden & Dangerous, Vietcong and Mafia. The action takes place in the near future, during the armed conflict which spread throughout almost the whole Europe. In fact, the Cold War between East and West never ended, but at the beginning of the last decade of the 20th century it simply entered a sleepy phase. Now, years later, it explodes with doubled power.
The player has the opportunity to become an American Army ranked soldier, taking part in battles. Going through successive missions of the single player campaign located, among others, in England (south-west coast near the city of Plymouth), Germany (mountain range near Baden-Baden), the Czech Republic (Carpathians) and Slovakia, gradually advance in the military hierarchy, as well as discover the backstage associated with the outbreak of war. During skirmishes he can use a whole range of modern weapons, from small arms (rifles, rocket launchers, etc.) to tanks, helicopters and other vehicles. In order to pass subsequent scenarios, it is necessary to fulfill the given targets and orders, e.g.: scouting, defending a key point or attacking important installations, establishing a new front line or eliminating certain enemy forces.
Enemy in Sight is also a solid multiplayer mode. The authors have prepared several types of multiplayer battles for the players. Some of them focus on presenting specific aspects of battles (e.g. tank battle maps), and in some cases the fighting teams must use both infantry, armoured forces, aviation and artillery to achieve victory. Of course, in all of them the emphasis was put on the cooperation of individual team members. In addition, Green Beret mode has been prepared for those who prefer a more independent character of the struggle.
The game uses a very good three-dimensional graphic engine, which allowed the authors to place the struggle on maps with an area of over 100 square kilometers. In addition, because the creators did not want to create artificial boundaries of locations, they developed another several hundred kilometers of the area surrounding each battlefield. The entire topography of the terrain was reproduced on the basis of aerial photographs of the places where the Enemy in Sight action was located. A big advantage is also the fact that any structure we encounter can be explored (e.g. home), and also damaged or completely destroyed.
