A third person action adventure game. Ertugrul of Ulukayin features a semi-open world and the story is set in 13th century Turkey. We can play as the titular Ertugrul - leader of the Kayi clan. The protagonist starts a rescue mission, searching for his missing brother. We mainly engage in combat, but stealth is also present in the game.
Ertugrul of Ulukayin is an action-adventure game, in which we see the world from a third-person perspective (TPP). We find ourselves in 13th-century Anatolia, right in the middle of the Mongol invasion. The production was handled by the independent Tekden Studio, which was established within the Tekden Film movie studio.
The action of Ertugrul of Ulukayin takes place in the 13th-century Ahlat - a key region of Anatolia, where a brutal struggle for power is ongoing.
We embody the legendary Ertugrul, who embarks on a rescue mission to find his brother. His journey leads him through vast steppes, mountainous terrains and abandoned settlements, where at every step not only Mongolian aggressors lurk, but also spirits and supernatural beings from Turkish folk beliefs.
During our adventure, we encounter historical and fictional characters, as well as other playable characters - the loyal companion Turgut or the mysterious warrior Meryem.
We follow the gameplay in Ertugrul of Ulukayin from a third-person perspective (TPP). The locations are partially open and allow for exploration, discovering secrets, and performing side quests, which can influence the development of the story. Real world intertwines with dreams drawn from Turkish mythology, where we find clues and messages.
On our way, we encounter many opponents with whom we duel using various weapons. The combat system includes both sword fights and the use of bows or axes. Additionally, each character has their own confrontation style and special abilities.
Apart from the absolute combat, the game offers the possibility of stealth eliminations, using shadow, environment, and traps. During the journey, we are also able to gather resources, which allow us to upgrade weapons and armor as well as create potions and traps.
The activities we perform allow for gaining experience, thanks to which we unlock new combat, tactical skills and abilities related to survival.
Ertugrul of Ulukayin is characterized by detailed graphics, reflecting the atmosphere of medieval Turkey. The game was created using the Unreal Engine, which allows for realistic lighting, dynamic weather conditions, and a day and night cycle. The current time of day can affect the behavior of enemies and inhabitants of the game world.
