Escape from Naraka is an action game with 3D platform game elements. The game was developed by independent Indonesian studio Xelo Games, and the creators mention among the sources of inspiration both legends of the native population of the island of Bali and games like SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell, Dark Deception and Doom series.

Plot

In Escape from Naraka we find ourselves in a gloomy labyrinth full of traps, bloodthirsty monsters and other dangers, which belongs to a demonic queen - Rangda. During the game we play as a brave man who ventured here to save his beloved. Before he can do that, however, a truly murderous journey awaits him.

Mechanics

In Escape from Naraka we observe the action from first person perspective (FPP). During the gameplay we dash through the levels, we jump on the platforms and over the chasms, as well as we avoid the omnipresent traps. From time to time we have to face opponents. Battles with enemies are not easy, because they require us to perform lightning-fast dodges and lead fast, accurate attacks. At the same time, the hero is not defenseless, and as he progresses he acquires skills that are useful to him both during battles with opponents and during the exploration of the labyrinth. In addition, numerous hidden secrets await you.

Technical aspects

The graphic design of Escape from Naraka shows a decent quality. The whole thing is colourful and clear, but at the same time kept in a rather dark atmosphere. Many of its elements were created using photogrammetry technology. We play to the accompaniment of soundtrack composed by Yohan Jager - author of Pumpkin Jack soundtrack.
