Although in the field of two-dimensional MMORPGs Tibia rules and divides, from time to time there are productions ready to spr?b threaten its dominance. One of them is Ethernia, the work of independent Pugna Studio, realized in an old-school style and distributed in a free-to-play model.
In Ethernia, we view events in a top-down view. We begin the adventure by creating a character. At the start, we decide on her gender and appearance, and customize her attributes and specialization.
The production puts at our disposal an open world divided into differentiated regions. Wandering through them, we carry out the tasks entrusted to us, face a variety of challenges, as well as stand up to fight against enemies. Clashes take place in real time, and during some battles (and other interactions) our success or failure is determined by a dice roll. The way in which we eliminate enemies (fighting in close quarters, at a distance or using magic), on the other hand, is determined by the class we choose and the skills we select.
As we progress, we push the plot forward; its final shape is determined by what we do and the decisions we make. In addition, we develop the character over time. To do so, we improve her abilities and stats and equip her with special runes (which increase her combat potential by providing various passive and active effects), as well as increasingly better equipment. The latter we can improve and produce on our own, using collected resources and raw materials (gathering and farming have been implemented in the game) and the crafting system.
Ethernia takes us to the title continent, which for centuries has been an arena for magical conflicts, and is now bending under the onslaught of dark forces known as Twilight Ticket. During the course of the game, we take on the role of an heir to the resistance movement, destined to make a lasting mark on the fate of these lands.
Ethernia allows only multiplayer gameplay over the Internet. The title allows gameplay on PvE and PvP principles.
The graphic design of Ethernia game was made in pixel art technique and maintained in manga style.
