Felix The Reaper is an adventure game enriched with logic game elements, developed by independent Danish studio Kong Orange. Among the sources of inspiration, the developers mention the Danse Macabre theme, The Twilight Zone series, as well as the works of Pieter Breugel and Hieronim Bosch.
The main character of Felix The Reaper is the eponymous employee of the Ministry of Death. When the protagonist falls in love with Betty The Maiden from the Ministry of Life, he decides to quit his current office job and start working on the "frontlines", accepting the duties of a reaper and making sure people are dying as they should. It is the only chance our character has to be able to meet Betty; he even learned to dance in order to impress his sweetheart.
In Felix The Reaper the action is shown in isometric view. Our task is to lead five people to their deaths, which we must do across more than twenty levels of puzzles. Although during our activities time is at a standstill, which in theory gives us a free hand in achieving mission objectives, the complexity of the matter is that Felix cannot move in the daylight. However, the hero has the ability to manipulate the position of the sun, which enables him to change the position of the shadows.
When we manage to complete a given stage, time starts flowing again and we can see the results of our actions. In this way, we are gradually bringing our subsequent objectives closer to their destiny. It is worth mentioning that each level has its own more difficult version, and there are also special time trials waiting for unlocking with the skulls collected by Felix.
Visuals of Felix The Reaper are maintained in a colorful, cartoonish style. The protagonist is constantly dancing and his movements were developed in cooperation with professional dancers. The soundtrack consists of songs by more than ten independent artists (between which we can switch freely while playing).
