A strategy game that takes us to Europe from 310 BC. - 190 n.e. During the game we take control over the chosen nation and lead it to victory over the others. To succeed, we must conquer more territories and take care of the cultural, economic and political background of our empire.
Empires is the subtitle of another production from the Field of Glory series of strategic games based on the popular board game of the same name. The title was developed by AGEOD studio, and, just like all the previous games from the series, released by Slitherine.
Field of Glory: Empires takes us on a journey to an ancient Europe inhabited by a variety of tribes and nations that have developed diametrically different cultures. We follow the fate of the continent from 310 B.C. to 190 A.D.
Field of Glory: Empires takes place on a vast map divided into more than a thousand regions. We mainly deal with the gradual shifting of the borders of our empire and the conquest of further areas. In order to strengthen our army and ensure the prosperity of our citizens, as well as the economic and cultural background of the state, we erect various buildings on the land we own, adjust various factors of individual territories and form provinces (this helps in having control over the country), as well as create trade routes.
Tactical battles fought in turn-based mode on maps covered with square fields play an important role. The authors provide us with more than four hundred and fifty types of units and more than a thousand commanders and generals, who help us on the battlefield. However, the size of our army alone does not guarantee success - we have to know the strengths and weaknesses of individual units, as well as remember about the proper positioning on the battlefield.
The game also offers an interesting mechanic - a specific battle can be transferred to Field of Glory II, and then import its result into Field of Glory: Empires.
Field of Glory: Empires has a single and multiplayer mode, in which we play via e-mail.
Field of Glory: Empires has simple, three-dimensional graphics in a style reminiscent of the board original.
