Dredge: The Pale Reach is the first expansion to Dredge, an RPG with horror elements released in March 2023. It was developed by Black Salt Games, just like the base game, and was published by Team17.
Dredge: The Pale Reach introduces a new storyline, which we can play through at any point of the base game. It's set in an icy area hiding a great secret. Following the trail of the previous crew to sail these waters, we learn about bitter betrayal and the place we're in.
Dredge: The Pale Reach adds about 1-3 hours of playtime, depending on our playstyle and pace. Aside from new quests, there's also four new equipment items and eleven new types of fish to catch. There's also a new, extremely useful boat expansion, capable of breaking ice. Players can also purchase blocks of ice, which make fish spoil slower.
Dredge: The Pale Reach is not a standalone expansion and requires the base version of Dredge.

Game Ratings for Dredge: The Pale Reach Video Game.
CGMagazine: 9 / 10 by Jordan Biordi
Dredge remains an incredibly playable and captivating game in a uniquely eerie package and while The Pale Reach DLC is a decent enough addition, it doesn’t offer enough to justify being paid content.
GameLuster: 6 / 10 by Nirav Gandhi
The Pale Reach is as good a reason as any to dip back into one of the best indie games of the year, but it falters in a lack of content, interesting narrative, and scares.
GamingTrend: 75 / 100 by Jackson Lustberg
If you're a fan of Dredge, then I would recommend The Pale Reach without hesitation, it's a good piece of new content to sate your appetite until Ironhaven releases. However, keep in mind that this DLC won't change your experience of the main game all that much if you've already completed it, it just gives you another chain to explore. All in all, it's like adding another puzzle piece to a completed puzzle.
