Gloom: Digital is a card game by Atlas Games, in which you control the fate of a certain unusual family by creating tragic stories of its members, with a large dose of black comedy. The digital version of the game was created by SkyShip Studios and published by Asmodee Digital.
Your task in Gloom: Digital is making the life of your family miserable. You do it by using various cards, with which you lower their self-esteem, which leads to many negative results, ending with their deaths (usually in a spectacular, black-comedic way).
At the same time, you can also play positive cards for the families controlled by your rivals, throwing a monkey wrench in their plans. The game ends when one family is completely wiped out. However, its is not just speed that counts, but also your style—when the game ends, the self-esteem points of each family are counted. The player whose family has the least amount of points wins.
Gloom: Digital features only a multiplayer mode.
Like most card game adaptations, Gloom: Digital features rather simple visuals, most of it consisting of the interface and illustrated cards. The illustrations were made by Keith Baker, known for his work for many tabletop RPG guidebooks..
