A Polish fantasy strategy game, meant to be a "reverse RPG" and in many ways similiar to Black & White. In Gold Gold Adventure Gold we build the city and recruit heroes. After that we can assign them quests and observe their progress, assisting if necessary. The game also allows us to take care of our own monster pet.
Gold Gold Adventure Gold is a strategy game with unique mechanics reminiscent of the iconic Black & White. Other sources of inspiration for this project include games such as Against the Storm, Majesty, or Cult of the Lamb. The title was developed by the independent Polish studio Can Can Can a Man and it is their debut project.
In Gold Gold Adventure Gold we watch the action from a bird's eye view. During the game, we enter a fantasy world and take control of the land, where we build and expand our city.
Our lands are regularly attacked by monsters emerging from the underground. This problem can be solved for us by heroes coming from different parts of the world. We must fill the treasury in advance to be able to shower them with gold for dealing with the monsters.
Adventurers, among whom we will find both humans and beasts, and even the undead, lead their own lives on our lands, forming teams and erecting their own buildings, and even assigning quests to each other. It is worth closely observing their actions, as adventures shape their personality, both in a positive and negative way.
We are not completing the quests ourselves in the game, but instead we assign them and then observe how they are performed by the adventurers working for us. The developers refer to this as a "reverse RPG".
Gold plays a dominant role in the world from the game. What we base the economy of our kingdom on, to ensure its steady inflow, depends on us. The game allows us to fully focus on fighting monsters and observing our heroes (when things don't go their way, we can help them, including with the use of spells). On the other hand, there is nothing to prevent focusing on agriculture and peaceful development.
This is not the end, because the monster that appears on our lands can be left alone, or... become our pet. Just like in the Black & White series, we can take care of its upbringing and watch as it grows and develops its skills.
In order to raise it properly, we must devote time to play and care for it, or punish it when necessary. It should be remembered that how we treat it has a direct impact on its nature and behavior.
All of this is important because a well-behaved creature can prove to be an invaluable helper, capable of dealing even with the bigger problems of our kingdom.
