Mechanics

Gran Turismo on PS1 is a racing game with an emphasis on realistic representation of car physics. The production contains 140 vehicles, whose parameters can be modified by the player between races. By browsing the available vehicles, we can find brands such as Dodge, Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru. The main aim of the game is to win races on eleven tracks (and their mirror reflections).

Game modes

Polys Entertainment's production offers two main gameplay modes - Arcade Mode and Gran Turismo Mode. In the first one, the player is free to choose the route and car, and wins are unlocked by new locations and vehicles.

In Gran Turismo Mode, a driver is rewarded with credits for which he buys new cars and tuning parts. In order to gain access to the most prestigious professions, you first need to develop licenses by completing special challenges.

Technical issues

Gran Turismo has a high quality 3D visuals that, according to the manufacturers, take advantage of approximately 75% of the PlayStation's capabilities. The fun is enhanced by a licensed soundtrack containing songs by such artists as Cubanate, Manic Street Preachers and Garbage.
