Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds PC

Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds is a two-dimensional RPG game enriched with strategic elements and turn-based combat, set in a fantasy setting. The game was created by the independent studio Ocelot.

Plot

The game allows us to play the role of a daredevil exploring the unexplored lands of Aarde. Our first mission for the Guild of Heroes is to escort a supply ship during its journey to the virgin continent. As soon as we set foot on dry land we get involved in one of the local intrigues. An enraged deity eager for revenge and a growing conflict between races are just part of the problems of the new world.

Gameplay

In Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds the action is shown in an isometric view. The main character and his companions represent different character classes, including classic "professions" such as archer, warrior, wizard, and rogue. Over a hundred available skills and sixteen basic equipment slots allow us to customize team members according to our preferences. Moreover, each of the companions can boast an individual biography or views and has an impact on the main plots.

We visit various sceneries, among which there is a place for jungles, dungeons, deserts, and cities. During this time we unlock numerous main and side quests. We solve them in several ways, relying on dialogues, strength, or alternative paths. During our journeys, we participate in battles fought turn by turn, using a variety of arsenal for melee combat, ranged weapons, special abilities, or different types of magic.

The game allows us to master skills related to various types of crafting. We can create items, enchant them or give them temporary bonuses thanks to alchemy. During the game we will also deal with cooking, brewing drinks, herbalism, or fishing. Performing some tasks requires a certain level of initiation in several fields. Some NPCs will also only want to talk to specialists in their field.

Game modes

In addition to the story campaign Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds also offers Gauntlet, a game mode inspired by the roguelike genre. It's about building a team of ten heroes (four of them fight, two act as support, the rest remain in reserve), trying to get as far as possible into the labyrinth. We use the silver won from victorious battles to improve skills or purchase bonuses.

Technical aspects

The work of Ocelot studio is characterized by pixel art graphics, referring to classic RPG titles.
