Halo 5: Forge Release Date PC
Halo 5: Forge is a free tool for PC version of Halo 5: Guardians, serving as complex map editor and multiplayer shooter to play on fan made levels.
Unlike a few console exclusives for Xbox that debuted on PC in 2015-2016, Halo 5: Guardians appeared only on Xbox One. However, players received a substitute in form of editor named Halo 5: Forge, created by Microsoft and 343 Industries studio (its name refers to the Forge mode from full-scale entries in Halo series). It is a complex tool that can be used to create custom maps for Halo 5: Guardians, which can be made from scratch or by modifying huge, sandbox levels prepared by developers: Alpine, Glacier and Space. When we are done with rebuilding and adding objects, we can share our work with community or download creations of others to use in Halo 5 for Xbox One.
While Halo 5: Forge started as a map editor, it received huge update a few weeks after its release, which allowed actually using maps created in it, and thus it became a free-to-play shooter and a substitute of the multiplayer mode of Halo 5. It is noteworthy that application can be used to share content between users of Windows 10 and Xbox One, and players of both platforms have access to everything created both in Halo 5: Forge and Halo 5: Guardians.
Halo 5: Forge for PC offers only the multiplayer mode, though players can play both on fan made maps and those from the original Halo 5: Guardians in custom modes for up to 16 players.
Being developed for PC, Halo 5: Forge has been optimized for modern PCs. Even though it uses the original engine, the game offers e.g. support of higher resolutions up to 4K, improved controls and option of using with keyboard and mouse duo, both in editor and while playing. It also features Halo application, which is an integral part of Halo 5: Forge and gives players access to the most recent news, clips, tutorials, fan made content, information about updates and other content related to Halo universe.
