An adventure-simulation game, featuring additional strategy elements and graphics inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli. Hotel Galactic allows us to run the titular establishment. We can take care of guests and gradually expand the hotel. The game also gives us a chance to explore the island drifting through space.
Hotel Galactic is a game on the border of adventure, simulation, and strategy genres. It allows us to run the titular establishment. The game was developed by the Polish studio Ancient Forge, which has The Tenants and Glorious Companions in its portfolio. Its distinctive feature is the graphic design inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli.
In Hotel Galactic we are given a neglected hotel built on a magical island drifting through space. The building was designed by Gustav's grandfather, who serves as our guide here, and our task is to restore its former splendor.
During the game, all issues related to running a hotel rest on our shoulders. Our main duty is to welcome guests and take care of their needs and fulfill their whims. We should make an effort to please everyone, as each of them has a unique personality and preferences.
We are also engaged in gradually expanding the hotel. Using modular building techniques, we can not only renovate existing rooms, but also create new ones, and then furnish and decorate them as we see fit. It is worth remembering to arrange rooms and corridors in a way that allows a good "flow" of people using them.
This is not the end, as the game forces us to regularly leave the hotel and organize expeditions into the depths of the island, in search of resources scattered around it. In this way, we gain access to necessary raw materials and useful components. Materials are used for the crafting system, with the help of which we create various tools (thanks to the technology developed by us, over time they become more advanced). We can use the components in the kitchen, cooking various delicacies.
Such expeditions are also an opportunity to discover the secrets of the surrounding land. There is an underground complex in the game, which can be adapted over time to the needs of a hotel. We can also discover a pasture that is home to the plants and animals we breed.
As we can see, there is a lot of work here, so it's impossible to do everything alone. That's why the game allows us to employ workers who are equipped with special traits and abilities. Our employees can perform various tasks for us, so it is worth ensuring that they are assigned to objectives that match their competencies.
This is how a hotel, which initially does not seem very impressive, over time becomes a cozy place developed by successive generations of employees and visited by successive generations of guests.
